This interior repaint was part of a large residential remodel in Atherton, CA. The interior painting project covered nearly every room across two floors, including walls, ceilings, doors, windows, trim, and cabinetry. Over the course of six weeks, Arana Craftsman Painters worked through spaces like the foyer, living room, bedrooms, stairways, kitchen, bathrooms, and garage. Special details included painting two fireplace fireboxes with fire-resistant coatings and applying Venetian plaster finishes in select areas.

Background / Story:

This project came through interior designer Mead Quinn and the construction team at Cronin Construction, who were managing a full home renovation. With many trades involved and multiple surfaces being updated at once, the painting work had to line up with a tight construction schedule.

Several areas required extra attention. For example, the two interior stairways included newel posts, handrails, risers, and balusters that all needed a smooth, uniform finish. Some rooms had newly installed drywall that required primer and fresh paint, while other areas needed a careful repaint to match the new color palette.

The design called for a mix of soft neutrals and deeper accent tones from brands like Farrow & Ball and Benjamin Moore. From bedrooms and offices to shared family spaces, each area was painted to fit the overall design plan while still giving every room its own character.

Scope of Services:

• Interior Wall and Ceiling Painting: Walls and ceilings throughout both floors were prepped, primed where needed, and painted to create a clean finish across newly remodeled areas and existing spaces.
• Trim, Baseboard, and Crown Molding Painting: Baseboards, crown molding, and other trim elements were repainted to match the new interior color scheme and provide a crisp transition between surfaces.
• Door and Window Frame Painting: Interior doors, frames, and window casings were refinished to blend with the updated wall colors and trim work.
• Staircase and Railing Painting: Two interior stairways received detailed painting, including newel posts, risers, handrails, and balusters.
• Cabinet Painting: Cabinetry in the mudroom and other areas was finished to complement the surrounding trim and walls.
• Fireplace Firebox Painting: Two fireplaces, including the one in the master bedroom and living space, were painted with fire-resistant coatings designed for high-heat areas.
