ARANA-Sherman-St-Alameda-1

Sherman Street, Alameda + AND Interior Design Studio + Norman Sanchez Architecture

This historic home in Alameda which was once a boarding house boasted tons of original details. We carefully unburied each one: stripping paint off of doors, removing grime from brass fixtures. No expense was spared in the remodel and restoration of this beautiful house. A particularly unique detail: painted stamped-leather wainscoting — which is something you definitely don’t see every day!

McGee Street, Berkeley + HDR Remodeling

Paint is a simple detail in this bathroom, and yet no less important than the gorgeous tile!

In this collaboration with HDR Remodeling, we framed this work-of-art shower with a coat of Acrylic Eggshell, highlighting the bathroom’s best assets. (Click the link to their website to read the story of how this tiny bathroom was transformed into a spa retreat, and view Before images!)

Skyline Boulevard, Oakland + LMB Interiors

Bright pops of color from the art were the starting point and inspiration for this Mid-Century Modern home interior design. Choosing the art first and then paint colors and wall coverings is an unusual way to go about an interior design project. However, the results can be so satisfying! See our interview with art consultant Danielle Fox of SLATE Art for more details about this process, on our blog.

Ronald McDonald House + Anastasia Faiella Interior Design

This tranquil retreat is one of eight spaces Arana painted as part of our first ever charity project with Ronald McDonald House at Stanford, In Palo Alto, CA. We worked closely with Anastasia Faiella to create her vision of a comfortable, calming haven for families with sick children. Arana joined 50 Interior Designers and countless craftsmen and vendors who donated time, energy, and materials to this wonderful project.

Dina Bandman Decorator Showcase-3

SF Decorator Showcase House + Dina Bandman Interiors

Arana is proud to have participated in the creation of this gorgeous room design by Dina Bandman Interiors for SF Decorator Showcase 2023.

San Francisco Decorator Showcase is an annual fundraising event that is also an incredible opportunity for brilliant interior designers to show off their talents. Designs are submitted in a juried competition and then the entire house is transformed by the winners in a period of four short months. When Dina Bandman Goldstone needed a painter to handle the high gloss ceiling and pristine white trim she envisioned, as well as to do the prep work and applying primer for hanging that exquisite hand-painted silk wall covering, she called us.

Happy Valley Road, Lafayette + LMB Interiors + McCutcheon Construction

There are so many gorgeous spaces in this whole-house remodel that we participated in creating. The kitchen is a particular favorite for us in this portfolio. We love the use of the interior siding, which reminds us of 1920s farmhouses, and sojourns at Indian Springs Resort in Calistoga. We used a hand-brushed technique on the wood, completing the artisanal look.
