Belvedere Interior Limewash With Custom Door Staining

Project Description

This Belvedere Interior Limewash project was completed by Arana Craftsman Painters for a Tuscan-style home in Paradise Cove, Belvedere, CA. The month-long project included brushed limewash walls, rolled limewash ceilings, protective sealer in selected high-traffic areas, and custom staining of the primary bedroom doors.

Color Atelier Limewash Paint was used throughout the interior with different application methods based on the surface. The primary bedroom doors were stripped and refinished with a custom-matched Old Masters stain.

The project combined full-home interior painting with interior wood staining. The completed project cost was approximately $227,275.

Background/Story

Tracey and Dave purchased a Tuscan-style home in Paradise Cove and were referred to Arana Craftsman Painters through MAS Design. The project called for a decorative limewash finish across much of the home while respecting its custom architectural details.

The walls and ceilings required different application methods to create the requested finish. The primary bedroom doors also needed to be stripped and stained to a custom-matched color rather than covered with paint.

Scope of Services

Interior Wall Limewash: Walls throughout the included rooms received brushed Color Atelier limewash for the specified decorative finish.
Ceiling Limewash: Ceilings throughout the project were finished with rolled limewash for a more solid-color appearance.
Bathroom Ceilings: Bathroom ceilings were included with regular paint or rolled limewash based on the specified finish for each area.
Closet Finishes: Included closets received regular paint or rolled limewash according to the project specifications.
High-Traffic Sealer: Protective sealer was applied in the living room, entry and foyer, powder room entry, and dining room.
Main Floor Areas: Work included the living room, entry and foyer, powder room entry, closet, utility/laundry area, office, bath and water closet, dining room, primary salon, primary lounge, primary bedroom, primary closet, bathroom, and stairwell.
Top Floor Areas: Work included the hall, kid’s room, vestibule, closets, bathrooms, library, and guest room.
Primary Bedroom Door Stripping: Existing finishes were removed from the primary bedroom doors before refinishing.
Custom Door Staining: The primary bedroom doors were stained with a custom-matched Old Masters stain.
Project Completion: The interior limewash and door refinishing work was completed over approximately one month.

Results

The finished home now carries the limewash treatment across both floors, with brushed walls creating more visible movement and rolled ceilings providing a more uniform finish. Sealer was added in selected high-traffic spaces for added protection.

The custom-stained primary bedroom doors kept the appearance of finished wood while coordinating with the surrounding interior. The full month-long project was completed for approximately $227,275.
