Maxwelton Road, Piedmont

Protecting and beautifying homes for our clients is what we love to do! This project is a repeat client, who called us in to perform necessary and aesthetic updates to her new home!

We coated the wood shingles with a flame retardant and wood preservation product that goes on clear, as well as repairing the front door frame and balcony details, applying varnish to the doors, and painting all of the railings on the multi-level decking plus the window and door frames.

The client picked the colors, including this amazing burgundy, which just makes the whole facade sing!

Trinity-Ave-Kensington-Bathroom-3-1

Trinity Avenue, Kensington + HDR Remodeling

This utterly charming bathroom remodel was part of an extensive lower-level home renovation/living space addition, performed by HDR Remodeling.

We painted the walls and ceiling, and contributed extensive stain and protection work to the wood window, door, and door frame, with careful attention to matching the existing vintage wood-stain finishes throughout the Arts-and-Crafts-era home.

HDR Morpeth-

Morpeth Street, Oakland + HDR Remodeling

Another gorgeous collaboration with HDR Remodeling!

We love the period-appropriate white paint selection. And check out the beautiful, vintage-looking glass pendant lights in the kitchen! The fireplace gets a makeover as well, keeping the brick detail while giving it a glow-up.

If you are curious about the level of detail that goes into choosing which shade of white, check out our interviews with local interior designers on the topic, here:

Arana Pearl Ave Alameda-2488

Pearl Street, Alameda

We love houses that have lots of decorative details!

These homeowners chose a palette that not only reflects their love of U.C. Berkeley, but also highlights the craftsmanship on the vintage early 1900s woodwork. Choosing a darker gray for below the molding is another creative choice that adds to the curb appeal. And the fact that the houses on either side are gray on the one, and blue on the other, speaks to how choosing a palette can be a decision that plays well with others, and contributes to the beauty of the whole neighborhood.
